Thralls Batch 1 - Orange, uh, batch A
So I am going to take an informal poll on this one. Should I post every time I make visible progress, or only when I complete a full set of changes for the current batch of models. Since progress had slowed a bit, I thought maybe the latter. Leave your thoughts in the comments, and I will tally up all the votes and make a decision.
This was the same combination of Bakunin Neon for the recesses, then wet blending in various combinations of it with Invincible Orange. Then a final glaze with Yutang Sunset and Matt White, also in various combinations, with a smidge of edge highlighting. Whatever seemed right.

I post every time I painted, these days. It may not be for everyone, but I would vote to do that.
ReplyDeleteI agree with @Ian!
DeleteThe crotch cloak worn by the guy with the sword above his head is particularly eye catching. Its a good focal point to draw the eye where you want to draw it. My friend explained that to me once. Her shirt had no decoration save for a small flower-like pattern embroidered at the base of the shirt's v-neck. The thing is... nothing on the shirt was truly the focal point. The embroidery was just the excuse to let the eye linger on the real focal point a couple of centimeters higher up.
ReplyDeleteIt was a memorable and educational discussion.
Wait, what was I talking about?
Crotch cloak is much better than curtain, which suggests there is some sort of show being performed. These thralls are all business, and have no time for that sort of thing. So crotch cloak it is!
ReplyDeleteThat is separate from the ass cape, right? I wouldn't dare to try to usurp that name, since it had me giggling for an hour the first time you used it.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the ass cape is a specific garment of the Reavers.
